Aglianico 'Janare' La Guardiense 2022
Perfect to drink every dayThe Aglianico "Janare" is a soft, generous, and fruity red wine from Sannio, with an excellent quality-price ratio. After aging for 6 months in French oak barrels, it emanates notes of ripe cherries, red fruit, and vanilla, offering a full, soft, warm, and enveloping sip.
The Aglianico "Janare" La Guardiense is a red wine that originates in Sannio and already shows itself to be ready, but at the same time does not disdain further aging of 3-4 years, representing a product capable of evolving even in the coming period. It is a bottle where fruit and spices dominate the nose, opening to a compact and warm sip, in which the elegance of the tannins stands out, always in perfect balance. A label for all seasons, which also demonstrates excellent gastronomic versatility.
The "Janare" Guardiense is born from the pure use of the red grape variety that symbolizes Campanian viticulture, Aglianico. The vines of this variety grow using the guyot system within vineyards located about 300-400 meters above sea level, in predominantly limestone and clay soils, included within the Sannio Beneventano. The clusters, carefully selected during the harvest phase by the La Guardiense team, are destemmed and the obtained berries are subjected to pressing. The must ferments in steel containers, macerating on the skins for 18 days, while malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak tonneaux. This is followed by aging, which lasts 6 months and takes place in oak tonneaux from Allier and Troncais.
This red Aglianico "Janare" presents itself to the eye with a deep and concentrated ruby color, crossed by slight reflections tending more towards violet at the rim. The olfactory spectrum moves through a progression of initially fruity notes, which then shifts towards more spicy nuances, resulting from the light passage in wood during the aging phase. On the palate, it is full-bodied, enveloping, with a sip that is warm and smooth thanks to the fine and elegant tannins. A red of the Campanian tradition signed by the La Guardiense winery that is hard to give up, considering also the incredible quality-price ratio offered.
