With a luminous amber colour with copper highlights, it smells of citrus fruits, spices, officinal herbs, Mediterranean scrub and hints of rhubarb, liquorice and juniper. With its intense, enveloping, rich taste and long citrus persistence, it is a perfect after-dinner digestive to be served with ice cubes!
The Amaro Eroico from the distillery Essenza Mediterranea is born in Altomonte, in the province of Cosenza and perfectly expresses the character and ancient history of this land. It is a traditional liqueur with ancient origins. At the beginning of the 11th century, some monks and hermits arrived from Sicily and Greece in the small village of Altomonte, who knew the ancient art of alchemy. Thus, a tradition and a culture of herbalism and infusions was born, linked to the practices of natural herbal preparations. From this custom, carefully preserved over the centuries, comes a bitter with an ancient and legendary flavor, capable even today of captivating with an intense, elegant, and harmonious sip.
The Amaro Eroico is produced by Essenza Mediterranea with ingredients of excellent quality: red orange from Sicily IGP, lemon from Sorrento IGP, bergamot from Calabria, mandarin from Calabria, cedar from Calabria, bitter orange, gentian, cinchona, rosemary, oregano, juniper, licorice root, and almond. The aromaticity of the citrus fruits, extracted from the essential oils of the peels, mixes with the fresh notes of the medicinal plants, the aromatic herbs, and the spices complete the bouquet with delicate notes.vegetal sensations of wild herbs.
