Perfect to give as a giftThe Barbaresco "La Casa in Collina" is a wine hymn that Vite Colte dedicates to the Langhe, a land of wine and the birthplace of the great Cesare Pavese. Aged in large wooden barrels, as tradition dictates, it releases intense and pronounced sensations of violet and currant on the nose, with toasted and vanilla notes. On the palate, it is rich and elegant, with velvety tannins and a persistent finish
“La Casa in Collina” is a Barbaresco produced by the winery Vite Colte according to the traditional Langhe production approach, where Nebbiolo is blended from different vineyards and then matures in large barrels, thus summarizing the classic overall vision of the appellation. A full-bodied and velvety wine, with a delicately tannic sip that pairs well with earthy dishes, particularly with Piedmontese meats and another precious ingredient from the area, the white truffle from Alba.
The Barbaresco “La Casa in Collina” is made from the grapes of the most important red grape variety in all of Piemonte, Nebbiolo. Vite Colte cultivates it in different parcels characterized by various microclimates and terroirs. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature between 28 and 30 degrees and lasts for 20 days. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in large oak barrels for more than 12 months. After bottling, an undergoes an additional maturation of 12 months, directly in glass.
The “Casa in Collina” is a Barbaresco that, upon visual examination, presents a typical garnet color, with good intensity. The olfactory spectrum is orchestrated around refined and intense aromas where small berries take center stage, enriched by a more toasted scent from which some tertiary notes emerge. On the palate, it has excellent body, is structured, broad, with a sip that flows gently across the palate thanks to a finely integrated tannic structure. It finishes with good persistence, centered on a floral aftertaste.
