The Barolo "Prapò" by Ettore Germano is a robust, elegant, and structured wine, aged for 24 months in barrel. The bouquet is rich and broad, recalling red fruit, sweet spices, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is intense, elegant, and very balanced.

Barolo 'Prapò' from the renowned Langa winery Ettore Germano is adeep and structured expression, an authentic interpretation of the Serralunga d'Alba terroir. The Menzione Geografica Aggiunta 'Prapò' is located on the upper part of the eastern slope of the Serralunga territory and was originally part of Bricco Cerretta, from which it was differentiated in 2009. The Ettore Germano estate has about one and a half hectares in this cru, represented by vineyards planted in 1967, 1999 and 2012.

Ettore Germano Barolo 'Prapò' is a pure Nebbiolo from vines of an average age of 45 years, planted on clayey-calcareous soils characterised by the presence of sandy layers. The rows, facing south-east, are situated between 330 and 370 metres above sea level. The bunches are hand-picked into crates and then destemmed and crushed, with subsequent alcoholic fermentation taking place in vertical stainless steel tanks, accompanied by 40-45 days of maceration on the skins. After racking and malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into large 20 and 25 hectolitre oak casks for ageing for 18-24 months, at the end of which it is bottled and left to rest for a further year in glass.

Ettore Germano's Barolo 'Prapò' has a brilliant ruby red colour with a garnet rim. The aromatic array is described by complex and pleasant hints of strawberry, cherry, rose, liquorice, bay leaf, mint and bitter chocolate, enhanced by hints of cinchona and leather. The structure and intensity on the palate are well balanced by lively freshness and ripe tannins, in a persistent progression of absolute elegance and class. This is a Barolo endowed with an extraordinary capacity for evolution, which can be quietly forgotten in the cellar for decades.
