Bourgogne Rouge 'Les Deux Terres' Thibault Liger-Belair 2021
Rare winesThe Bourgogne Rouge "Les Deux Terres" is born from the union of two grape varieties cultivated in two different areas: Gamay from Beaujolais and Pinot Noir from various plots of the Cote de Nuits. This red wine reveals its fresher and more jovial side, through a juicy, fresh, and agile sip, with aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, and hints of black pepper.
Thibault Liger-Belair's Bourgogne Rouge "Les Deux Terres" is a juicy and irresistible red wine, a sincere blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir. It is one of the most convivial and everyday expressions bottled by Thibault Liger-Belair, an undisputed talent of Burgundy winemaking and capable of bringing out the best both from the most vocated plots of the Cote D'Or and from less known and vocated plots, which are nevertheless capable of expressing very interesting peculiarities. Despite carrying a very heavy surname, Thibault has embarked on his own personal path, made up of choices that are not taken for granted, such as an agronomic approach aimed at the rejection of any chemical or synthetic substance and an equally sensitive work in the cellar, which we could define as vigilant custody. The trait d'union among Thibault's liquids is their sensuality and aromatic availability, while still remaining fine and extremely multifaceted.
The "Les Deux Terres" is made from a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, and more precisely from the union of grapes from plots located in the Beaujolais as far as Gamay is concerned, and from other Burgundies for Pinot Noir. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, only minimal amounts of copper and sulfur are used, excluding any herbicide, pesticide or pesticide, and plowing with horses. In the cellar, alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously and the liquid is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
The "Les Deux Terres" Bourgogne Rouge presents itself in the glass with an unloaded, bright ruby robe. A perfumed and enjoyable nose, squaring hints of raspberry, cassis, freshly cut grass and black pepper. The sip is smooth and juicy, endowed with lively, agile dynamics and a bright flavor profile. Gourmand and very fresh, it is a classic case of hardly stopping at a bottle. Conviviality.
