The Brunello di Montalcino "Poggio Cerrino" from the Tiezzi winery is a pure Sangiovese from one of the most famous production areas in Tuscany, if not Italy. The grapes are carefully hand-selected and the aging proceeds first with 44 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and subsequently in bottle for an additional 4 months. The intense ruby red color precedes aromas of ripe red-fleshed fruit, spicy notes, and hints of vanilla. The taste is warm, significant, winey, with soft tannins and an extremely long finish.

The red Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio Cerrino” is born in a small winery, located a few steps from the historic village of Montalcino, managing a property of about 10 hectares, divided into three farms: Vigna Soccorso, Cigaleta, and Cerrino. Tiezzi has always produced wines of excellent quality, with a craftsmanship passion and a great love for the territory. The Sangiovese grapes come from the vineyards from the Podere Cerrino, which are about 35 years old and are cultivated with high planting density and low yields per hectare. The harvest is done manually, with selection in the vineyard of the ripest and healthiest bunches. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats, with a maceration on the skins of about three weeks. The wine ages for over 40 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and completes the aging with about 6 months in bottle.
