The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva by Poggio di Sotto is an important red wine, robust and powerful, very elegant and complex, aged in oak barrel sfor 60 months. Its velvety aromatic texture is rich in ethereal notes and also full-bodied aromas of red ripe fruit and spices. A great expression from Tuscany

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio di Sotto is one of the best excellences of the famous Tuscan Denomination, a classic that has now become part of the select elite of the great reds of our peninsula. The estate is located on the southeast slope, in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, traditionally considered one of the most vocated crus of the Montalcino hill. Sixteen hectares of vineyards cultivated between 200 and 400 meters above sea level, all planted with Sangiovese, immersed in an unspoiled natural environment, which also includes olive groves and large wooded areas. The vineyards have been planted with high density and thanks to careful and strict management, they produce only 30/35 quintals per hectare, always ensuring a high quality of the harvest.

The Riserva Poggio di Sotto is the result of careful selection work, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar. During the second half of September, manual harvesting takes place with the selection of only the best bunches, which are then brought to the cellar in small boxes. Before fermentation, the grapes are subjected to a second selection and only the best bunches are sent for winemaking. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats, with very prolonged macerations and frequent pump-overs. The wine matures in 30-hectoliter oak barrels and only after a series of tastings, the best barrel is chosen to become the Riserva. The aging period lasts 60 months in wood and only at the end of this long process, it is bottled without filtration. The aging concludes with one year in the bottle before being put on sale.

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva represents the essence of the territory, its most noble, intense, and long-lived expression, destined to delight the palates of the most demanding enthusiasts for years. In the glass, it has a brilliant ruby red color. It expresses a complex and elegant bouquet, with aromas of small red fruits, spicy notes, and a balsamic touch. On the palate, it is deep and powerful, with great structure, significant tannic texture, and a pleasantly fresh finish. The finish is long and persistent. A great red, which at the table finds the best pairings with roasted red meats or game.
