Chardonnay 'Puntay' Erste+Neue 2022

The Chardonnay "Puntay" from the Alto Adige winery Erste+Neue is an elegant and intense white aged in wood, which seduces with its floral and fruity bouquet, and a fresh, aromatic, rich and enveloping taste. Chardonnay, the famous Burgundy grape, has been cultivated for centuries in Trentino Alto-Adige with excellent results, making it one of the most famous whites of the region today. The cool climate and the suitable soils ensure high-quality production, perfectly reflected in this label from Erste+Neue.

The white "Puntay" is produced with pure Chardonnay grapes, sourced from vineyards cultivated in hilly areas at about 350 meters above sea level. The soils are characterized by the presence of gravel, poor and very draining soils, ideal for quality viticulture. The vines are trained in Guyot and produce with low yields, of about 60 quintals per hectare. After harvesting, the grapes are sent for fermentation in large barrels and tonneaux of French oak. The wine then matures in the same woods for at least 7 months before being bottled and completes the aging period with a few months in the bottle before being released on the market.

The wine "Puntay" belongs to the line of the Erste+Neue winery that aims to enhance the peculiarities of the South Tyrolean terroir, selecting grapes from the historically most suited vineyards of the Estate. A Chardonnay that brings the best characteristics of the grape and the typical mineral freshness of the Region's white wines into the glass. The color is straw yellow with brilliant golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses intense fruity aromas, with hints of exotic fruit, citrus notes, and nuances of vanilla. The sip is harmonious and rich, with ripe fruit well supported by a lively vein of freshness.
