The Crozes-Hermitage Rouge from the French winery J. Denuziere is an enchanting and engaging pure Syrah that reveals intense and well-defined aromas. The grapes are hand-harvested from vineyards located on soils rich in rocks and pebbles, while aging takes place in wooden barrels for 8 to 12 months. The color is deep ruby red with violet reflections that evoke the aromas of blackberries and blueberries, merging with sensations of white pepper. The sip is intense, soft, velvety, and has a toasted finish.
The Crozes-Hermitage Rouge from Maison J. Denuziere is a harmonious and enveloping red, made with pure Syrah, the indigenous grape variety symbol of the Vallée du Rhone territory. In this area, the cultivation of the vine has an ancient history. Already in Roman times, the wines of Vienne were famous for their quality. Today, the reds of the Rhône Valley represent an excellence of French production and are particularly loved for their pleasant fruity richness, elegance, and complexity. They are intense wines that require significant pairings with roasted red meats, a beef tagliata, game, or grilled meat.
The Rouge Crozes-Hermitage is born in a historic domaine of the Vallée du Rhone. Maison J. Denuziere has been cultivating vines in this splendid terroir since 1878. The Crozes-Hermitage area is located on the left bank of the Rhône, at the height of the 45° parallel. The climate is temperate, influenced by cold winds coming from the north and the mild effects of breezes rising from the Mediterranean. The soils are rather heterogeneous. In the southern area, there are mainly soils characterized by the abundant presence of pebbles and red clays, while in the north, alluvial terraces of pebbles, gravel, sand, and granite prevail. The harvest is done manually with selection of the best bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Before bottling, the wine matures for a period of 8-12 months in oak barrels.
The Crozes-Hermitage Rouge from Maison J. Denuziere is a perfect interpreter of a terroir, always appreciated for its elegant, balanced reds that provide immediate drinking pleasure, without having to wait many years to appreciate its full expressive maturity. In appearance, it presents a dark ruby red color with slight violet reflections. The olfactory profile is dominated by aromas of small dark berries, blueberry, black currant, wild blackberry, floral nuances, hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, delicate spices, and a pleasantly peppery touch. The taste is full-bodied, with lively tannins and a sip warm, with soft and enveloping fruit, which finishes harmoniously and persistently.
