The Etna Bianco Superiore 'Frontebosco' by Maugeri is a wine of great personality that originates in the Contrada Volpare of Milo, at 700 meters above sea level. It ages for months on the fine lees, partly in steel and partly in French tonneaux, a technique that gives great depth. On the nose, captivating hints of orange blossom, dog rose, and candied citrus are perceived, with notes of ginger. On the palate, it is deep, balanced, with pronounced volcanic minerality and a persistent balsamic finish.

Maugeri's Etna Bianco Superiore 'Frontebosco' is a pure Carricante with a taut and refined character that originates in the municipality of Milo, on the eastern slope of Etna. The white wines produced in Milo are the only ones in the entire Etna wine-growing area that can boast the label 'Superiore', testifying to the area's high vocation for white wine production. This is largely due to the peculiar microclimatic conditions of the area, characterised by considerable annual rainfall and the constant presence of sea breezes blowing in from the Ionian Sea.

Maugeri Etna Bianco Superiore 'Frontebosco' is a 100% Carricante from vines grown in Contrada Volpare, within the municipality of Milo, at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level. The vines are bush-trained on small terraces supported by dry lava stone walls, characterised by sandy soils of volcanic nature rich in mineral elements. Agronomic management is based on the principles of certified organic farming, while the harvest is carried out by hand. This is followed by soft pressing with short cold skin maceration to enhance the aromas of the grapes. Sixty per cent of the must is then transferred into 500-litre French oak tonneaux and the remaining 40 per cent into stainless steel tanks, containers in which alcoholic fermentation takes place and subsequent maturation for 8 months on the fine lees.

Maugeri's 'Frontebosco' Etna Bianco Superiore has an intense straw yellow colour with golden hues. Clear and refined scents of orange blossom, dog rose, candied citrus, dried fruit and subtle hints of ginger define the olfactory texture. In the mouth it is fresh and savoury, with excellent tension and balance and a distinctly mineral and balsamic finish.
