The taste has a remarkable freshness and a great balance, with a slender, creamy and elegant texture
The Franciacorta Extra Brut 61 by Berlucchi is a label that is part of the Collection of the famous Franciacorta brand dedicated to the 1960s, which marked the pioneering period of the winery and the birth of what is now the most famous and highly regarded Italian sparkling wine denomination. The low dosage highlights the extraordinary richness and quality of the grapes, which express mature and complex, intense and elegant aromas. It is the ideal choice for those who love expressive harmony and purity. Perfect to taste at the time of the aperitif, it pairs very well with seafood appetizers and dishes of delicate fish.
The Extra Brut 61 Berlucchi is a Franciacorta that reaffirms the excellence of this brand, a symbol of Italian sparkling wine. Since the 1960s, the Berlucchi winery has established itself as a reference point in the Franciacorta area, contributing significantly to the affirmation of this Lombard denomination. The cuvée is made with a majority percentage of Chardonnay, in perfect coherence with the territory tradition, integrated with a balance of Pinot Nero. The grapes come from a selection of the most suitable plots of the estate, located in the territory of as many as 19 municipalities of Franciacorta. At the end of the harvest, a separate vinification is carried out for each grape variety and vineyard. The clusters are subjected to a soft pressing and the free-run must is started for fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After a few months of aging, the assembly of the vintage base wines is carried out, to which 20% of reserve wines is added. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Classic Method, with a stay on the lees of at least 24 months.
The Berlucchi Extra Brut 61 is a Franciacorta of remarkable expressive finesse and with a clear and vertical character. In appearance, it presents a bright light yellow color, crossed by a luminous, delicate, and persistent perlage. The bouquet is refined and elegant, with aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, fragrances of citrus peel, of white-fleshed fruit aromas, hints of bread crust, nuances of brioche bread and pastries, of almond and dried fruit. The attack on the palate is soft and creamy, with harmonious fruit, balanced by a clear savory vein and a finish of lively freshness.
