The Franciacorta Saten Ca’ del Bosco is a blend of Chardonnay with a smaller percentage of Pinot Bianco. The grapes are hand-picked usually in the second half of August in vineyards scattered among the municipalities of Erbusco, Adro, Cazzago San Martino, Corte Franca, and Passirano, in the province of Brescia. They then undergo a unique process: in a specially created machine, one witnesses washing and massage of the grapes that allows for complete cleaning without the loss of aromas. The processing method of the Saten is as simple to describe as it is decisive for the fate of the wine: during the tirage, the phase in which yeasts and sugars are added to the wine to start the refermentation, the amount of sugar added is less than that of a traditional sparkling wine.
The notes that reach the nose from the Saten “Vintage Collection” are mainly fruity, from peach to pineapple, with the sharpness of citrus intertwining with the sweetness of honey.
