Artisanal
Exclusive wineryThe Juliénas from the Domaine de Boischampt winery is a red wine produced in Beaujolais made from Gamay and aged for 12 months in cement tanks, to preserve the freshness of the fruit and the notes of strawberry, raspberry, and mint. Full-bodied and structured, it offers a full and intense sip on the palate, supported by sharp and well-present tannins. A deeply territorial wine, excellent to drink right away but ideal after a few years of resting in the cellar
The Juliénas from the French wine estate Domaine de Boischampt is configured as a pleasant and accessible red wine, not lacking in structure and complexity. The characteristics of the Juliénas territory, an appellation located in the northern part of the Beaujolais area, just about 15 kilometers from the city of Mâcon, are the high altitude and the remarkable soil heterogeneity of the vineyards, characterized by a variable presence of granite, clay, and schist. The winemaking tradition of this cru dates back to Ancient Rome, and it seems that the name "Juliénas" pays homage to the famous commander Julius Caesar.
Domaine de Boischampt Juliénas originates from only Gamay grapes grown according to the principles of organic farming. The vines have an average age of 50 years and are planted on steep hilly soils made up of altered blue stones at low depth, with slopes ranging from 20 to 40%. Once that the grapes have reached the optimal stage of ripeness, manual harvesting in crates is carried out, followed by red winemaking of the grapes through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins. Subsequently, the mass is placed in cement tanks for 12 months of maturation before bottling and a further short rest in glass before hitting the market.
The Juliénas Domaine de Boischampt is of intense ruby red color. On the nose, pleasant fruity aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry alternate with slight spicy hints. Refreshing notes of mint and aromatic herbs complete the olfactory context. The development on the palate is full, soft, and fresh, with good body and structure, with well-present tannins accompanying the fruity and balsamic finish.
