ArtisanalMeursault "Les Forges" of Domaine de Bellene is a Chardonnay of great class and finesse that comes from 50-year-old vineyards located in the extraordinary Côte de Beaune terroir. The aromatic bouquet stands out for the enveloping tones of honey and vanilla, the fruit of the long aging in wooden barrels of different capacities and passages. The sip is mineral, soft, and extremely elegant with chalky and slightly tannic hues in the finish. Artisanal Wine
The “Les Forges” Meursault is a wine that embodies what one expects from a white made in the French Burgundy. Chardonnay, the undisputed grape of the area, expresses itself with refinement and style, bringing to the nose both the complexity of the primary aromas from vines that are over fifty years old, and a range of tertiary notes derived from the aging period spent in wood. The sip is mineral, but thanks to the barrel aging, it also surprises with a slight tannic presence, which makes the drinking experience interesting. The right praise goes to Domaine de Bellene, the creator of a fine and sought-after product.
This “Les Forges” Meursault signed by the Domaine de Bellene winery originates from the pure grapes of a white grape variety that dominates the scene in Burgundy, Chardonnay. The vines of this international variety are about 50 years old and grow in vineyards situated 250 meters above sea level. The subsoil is mainly composed of clay and limestone. The grapes obtained from the destemming of the bunches are pressed softly, to then be transferred by gravity into oak barrels, where the must begins alcoholic fermentation. This is followed by aging, carried out for a period of at least 10 months in wooden barrels – partly also new – of different capacities.
The French white Meursault “Les Forges” made by Domaine de Bellene presents itself to the eye with a straw yellow color, crossed by slight golden reflections at the rim. On the nose, fruity notes are perceived, enriched by light spicy touches and nuances that recall the scent of honey. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, flavorful and tasty, with a balanced sip that highlights a mineral texture and also a slight hint of tannins. A product that embodies the tradition and classicism of white wines made in the French Burgundy, to be reserved for the most formal evenings.
