Artisanal
Exclusive wineryThe "999" by Nevio Scala is a red wine from the Colli Euganei produced from a Bordeaux blend based on Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Mainly aged in cement, it offers a soft, fresh, and direct sip, with an intense and fine tannic structure and a pleasant aromatic profile characterized by notes of herbs, hints of green pepper, berries, and delicate spicy notes.
The "Novecentonovantanove" by Nevio Scala is a red fragrant and pleasantly fruity wine, produced with two Bordeaux grape varieties, which have been cultivated for centuries in the Colli Euganei area. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which sincerely and typically expresses the varietal character of these great French grapes. The choice of using only a partial amount of wood in the aging process allows for the preservation of all the best varietal characteristics. Thus, the wine offers an extraordinary immediacy of drinking, with aromas of red fruit, accompanied by slight vegetal and spicy notes.
The wine "Novecentonovantanove" is born in Lozzo Atestino, where Nevio Scala, a famous football player and coach, decided to start a second career as a winemaker. He returned to his land to take care of wine, with a property of about 6 hectares managed under organic farming. The vineyards are located in a natural context characterized by the presence of olive trees and other plants, which ensure a precious biodiversity. The soils of ancient originvolcanic or alluvial and the beautiful exposures of the Colli Euganei area, allow for the production of quality grapes with the grape varieties that have always been present in Veneto: Garganega, Malvasia, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, to which are added ancient native varieties such as Turchetta, Recantina, Pataresca, and Corbinona. The wines of Nevio Scala are straightforward, an authentic and clear expression of the terroir.
The red "999" by Nevio Scala is produced on the hills of Padua, lands that have always been suited for vine cultivation. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 14 months in a concrete tank, except for 5% of the Cabernet Franc which is refined with a short passage in oak barrels. In the glass, it has a rather intense ruby red color. On the nose, it recalls the aromas of small dark berries, slight hints of aromatic herbs, green pepper, and soft spicy sensations. On the palate, it is intense and rich, with well-integrated tannins in the body of the wine and still crunchy fruit. The finish is pleasantly fresh, with a return of spicy sensations.
