L'Oreno is an intense and full-bodied red wine that perfectly embodies the idea of Supertuscan: a Tuscan wine born from a Bordeaux blend of great power and complexity. After an aging of 18 months in French barriques and another 12 in bottle, it presents a bouquet rich in ripe red fruits, spices, and chocolate. The sip is structured, enveloping, and very long.
The Oreno is a Bordeaux blend of rare class and finesse, the flagship wine of the Tenuta Sette Ponti as well as one of the leading representatives in the Supertuscan category. 50 hectares of vineyard for a winery that has become a true reference point in Tuscany, also considering the numerous awards received, strictly managed under organic farming to produce quality wines while respecting fruit and territory. Here, great tradition and history intersect, also evidenced by the planting of the oldest vineyard of the Estate, namely that of the Empire, planted in 1935 at the behest of Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia.
The red wine Oreno comes from a Bordeaux blend mainly composed of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small addition of Petit Verdot. The vineyards, located on clayey-limestone soils, range in age from about 15 years to 75 years and are situated at an altitude of about 250 meters. Rather contained yields highlight the desire to obtain fruits that are qualitatively excellent. After maceration and fermentation lasting about 25 days, the liquid ages for 12-18 months in barrique, enriching itself with toasted and spicy notes. After an additional aging of about a year in the bottle, the wine is ready to be put on the market.
The wine Oreno immediately shows its chromatic intensity, which appears with an intense ruby hue edged with violet reflections. Already from the first olfaction, it does not hide its richness made of berries, such as blackberries and blueberries, and delicious hints of vanilla and chocolate. A roundness that is also found on the palate, which unfolds in a soft sip, with a sensual and velvety texture without giving up a contribution of freshness and sapidity that invite again to drink. A true champion of its kind, it is enhanced by noble pairings such as game, braised dishes, and fine meats.
