
Pfefferer Sun' Colterenzio 2024
The white wine "Pfefferer SUN" is a limited edition with a fresh, agile, and young profile, made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Sauvignon. Matured only in steel, it reveals a fragrant and juicy aromatic profile, where notes of white-fleshed fruit, alpine herbs, and spring flowers emerge. The sip flows lightly and easily, highlighting a pleasant aromaticity.
The Pfefferer “Sun” from Colterenzio originates from Alto Adige. Colterenzio is a cooperative of about 300 independent winemakers founded in 1960. Thanks to Luis Rafer and his experience in the New World, it was possible over time to raise the quality of the grapes and reduce production in favor of greater care and respect for the raw material. The label is characterized by soft and warm colors with italic characters that convey elegance and finesse, able to reflect the quality of the product in the bottle.
The “Sun” Pfefferer from Colterenzio is a blend of Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Bianco grapes grown at an altitude between 250 and 550 meters above sea level in the areas between Bolzano, Corniano, and Appiano. The climate is characterized by cold winds coming from the Alps and a milder temperature thanks to the influence of Lake Garda: this condition leads to a sudden temperature swing between day and night, bringing the grapes to full ripeness. The soil is mainly composed of clayey soils, limestone sediments, about 150different types of minerals and limestone rock. The three grape varieties were harvested at the same time of the year and undergo fermentation in steel; the aging takes place on the lees, a practice that leads to good aroma development.
The Pfefferer “Sun” from Colterenzio presents itself in the glass with a straw yellow color and brilliant reflections; on the nose, a bouquet of aromas unfolds ranging from ripe white fruit combined with hints of white flowers and balsamic herbs with a peppery finish. On the palate, it is fruity and rich, with a pleasant fresh finish. It pairs excellently with delicate seafood dishes such as carpaccios and sea bass, but also with sushi and fish-based appetizers and sauces.
A special product that is well-suited for informal aperitifs among friends or summer family lunches to discover in the glass a wine that is the result of a work philosophy focused on quality and the union of multiple knowledges for an intense and balanced product.
