'Crescendo' is a red wine with a Bordeaux blend produced with the same composition since the '90s by Taaibosch, a winery operating in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Here the vineyards enjoy refreshing sea breezes that create the ideal climate for the success of this wine. Fresh, fragrant, and harmonious, it is made through completely sustainable and non-invasive practices, following a traditional approach to winemaking. A bottle that, with its aromas of red fruit, aromatic herbs, and spices, pairs wonderfully with game dishes, especially if grilled.

The ‘Crescendo’ Rosso from the South African winery Taaibosch is a wine that reinterprets the classic Bordeaux blend in a new and exotic dimension, born from the oceanic climate and the ancient soils of the Stellenbosch region. The Taaibosch estate is located particularly among the high hills of the Helderberg area, on the northeastern slope of the Stellenbosch area, less than 8 kilometers from False Bay. The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and the particular shape of the hills, which form a natural amphitheater, contribute to the freshness and high quality of the wines produced here.

The Taaibosch ‘Crescendo’ Rosso consists of a blend of Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Franc (49%), Merlot (36%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), represented by vines that are 20 years old or older. The soils are composed of sandstone and schist laid on granite and are also rich in mineral substances such as kaolinite, iron, and aluminum oxide, elements that give a reddish color to the soils. The altitude ranges from 250 to 380 meters above sea level while the exposure is predominantly to the west. In the winery, the grapes, harvested entirely by hand, are vinified in red by gravity through a brief cold pre-fermentation maceration and the subsequent alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins between stainless steel tanks and cement vats. An additional post-fermentation maceration follows, and then aging takes place in 225-liter oak barriques, large barrels of 9,000 liters, and traditional 4,500-liter cement tanks, all for a total period of 3 years.

The Rosso ‘Crescendo’ by Taaibosch has a bright ruby red color. The aromas range from notes of blackberry, wild strawberry, and aromatic herbs to hints of sweet pepper and green pepper. Sensations of fine woods and vanilla complete the olfactory context. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with excellent balance, and the elegant tannin accompanies the fragrant and harmonious finish.
