The Salted Gin from the young Italian brand Extillo is an artisanal distillate with a peculiar savory taste due to the use of salt crystals from the Apulian salt pans in its production. The Extillo project originates from the passion and creativity of young lovers of the spirits world, strongly intent on producing top-quality distillates through purely artisanal techniques. This Salted Gin represents their first label, made from ingredients sourced in Italy and processed with care and love.
Extillo Salted Gin is produced from a combination of Italian ingredients, such as botanicals from Lake Iseo and the salt from the Apulian salt pans. In addition to juniper, the main ingredient in all gins, the botanicals used include citrus fruits such as sweet orange, pink grapefruit, and lemon peels, as well as flowers like chamomile and orange blossoms. These ingredients are infused for a varying period in agricultural alcohol and then distilled using a small 45-liter still that operates according to the discontinuous method.discontinuous. The gin is finally bottled in very limited series and hand-packaged with a wax coating.
Visually, Extillo's Salted Gin presents itself with a transparent and crystalline appearance.
