The "Sandro" by Alberto Oggero represents the other side of the red we are used to: it pays homage to the lighter, juicy, and delicate nature of this grape, momentarily forgetting about tertiary evolution, spices, and opulence. A red entirely focused on fruit and savor that does not have the anxiety of being different from what it naturally is: it is vinified exclusively in cement tanks so that the scent of wood, often used for the aging of this variety, does not alter its varietal typicity.
Alberto Oggero begins his experiments in his aunt's old cellar and within a few years has managed to reach a truly high level of production quality, presenting himself today as the absolute protagonist of the young and dynamic nouvelle vague of Roero. The name "Sandro d'Pindeta" pays homage to grandfather Sandro, with whom Alberto frolicked in the vineyard and took his first steps in the cellar. The winery owns different plots, located in the Santo Stefano area.Roero and characterized by sandy soils with marked slopes. The fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in cement tanks with long skin aging.
