The Valtellina Superiore Grumello "Garof" by Mamete Prevostini is a Valtellinese red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes, here called Chiavennasca, which matures for 12 months in oak barrels. It presents itself with a light and elegant ruby red color, of brilliant transparency, and releases aromatic notes of currants, bramble blackberry, and toasted hazelnuts to the nose. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with wide freshness and tannins balanced with soft components, and a persistent aromatic finish

The Lombard red "Garof" is a Valtellina Superiore Grumello where the absolute balance between freshness and tannic component reigns, while the nose is enveloped by a bouquet that evokes the fruits of the underbrush. A bottle assembled from different plots owned by the Mamete Prevostini winery where the Chiavennasca grape grows, a reference variety for Valtellina, which in this terroir reaches very interesting qualitative profiles, as the "Garof" testifies with precision.

The "Garof" is a Valtellina Superiore Grumello made by the Mamete Prevostini winery from Chiavennasca grapes grown in the typical terraced vineyards of the Valtellina area, where dry stone walls dominate, called in dialect just like the name of this wine: "garof". It is the stones found in the soil that are used to delimit the plots owned by the winery. The grapes obtained from the destemming of the bunches are gently pressed and the must obtained from this operation ferments in stainless steel containers at a constant temperature. The subsequent aging process lasts for 12 months and takes place in oak barrels.

This Valtellina Superiore Grumello "Garof" Mamete Prevostini presents itself to the visual examination with a ruby red color that is neither too dark nor concentrated. The nose buzzes with subtle notes where hints of small underbrush fruits can be traced, enriched by more tertiary touches of toasted wood. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a sip characterized by a fresh verve, where the tannin is well balanced in the overall economy of the drink; it ends with an aromatic finish, endowed with good persistence. A true all-rounder at the table, although it prefers earthy menus.
