Rare winesThibault Liger-Belair's Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru "Aux Reignots" is a precious Burgundy red, legendary Premier Cru, famous for its complexity and refinement. In the mouth, it offers an elegant structure with silky tannins, juiciness and enchanting balance: on sip and it will become an indelible memory
The Domaine Comte Liger-Belair introduces its Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru ‘Aux Reignots’, an interpretation endowed with an enchanting charm that reflects the allure of this prestigious AOC of the Côte de Nuits. The climat of ‘Aux Reignots’ is located on a hill situated above the famous Grand Cru vineyards of ‘La Romanée’ and ‘Romanée Conti’, making it one of the highest crus of the Appellation Vosne-Romanée. This climat, also known by the names ‘Aux Raignots’ and ‘Les Reignots’, is distinguished by a slightly cooler microclimate and shallower soils compared to other parcels of the denomination.
The Vosne-Romanée ‘Aux Reignots’ Premier Cru by Comte Liger-Belair comes from only Pinot Noir grapes grown on limestone soils within the climat of ‘Aux Reignots’. The agronomic practices adhere to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming, and the harvest is carried out by hand only when the grapes have reached the right degree of ripeness. In the winery, the bunches are vinified in red through alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins, followed by aging in small French oak barrels for a period of 12 to 18 months.
The Pinot Noir ‘Aux Reignots’ Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Comte Liger-Belair colors the glass with its bright and transparent ruby red hue. Refined aromas of red fruits, violet, balsamic herbs, and leather describe the olfactory range, adorned with seductive spicy hints of clove and star anise. The palate development is soft, enveloping, and balanced, with a juicy freshness supporting the velvety tannic structure. A Pinot Noir of great elegance and prestige, destined for a very long life if stored properly.
