The Wine Box Coravin is a precious package that offers the opportunity to taste a bottle of Chateau Palmer Margaux ‘Alter Ego’ at leisure, for days or weeks, without losing its integrity over time, thanks to the revolutionary Coravin system. Chateau Palmer is a historic name from the Médoc, an estate in the Margaux area that was officially founded in 1814 by the Englishman Charles Palmer following the acquisition of the property from Madame Marie Bumet de Ferrière, widow of the last heir of the Gascq family. From that moment on, the Chateau has passed through the hands of various owners who have nurtured the myth of Margaux wines, elegant, structured, and long-lived expressions. Furthermore, the winery has been classified among the Troisièmes Crus in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855 commissioned by Napoleon III.

The Wine Box Coravin includes a bottle of Margaux ‘Alter Ego’ from the Bordeaux estate Chateau Palmer and a refined Coravin ‘Timeless Six+’ Emerald Green Premium Set.

Produced for the first time in 1998, the Margaux ‘Alter Ego’ is made from a blend of Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot (53%), Cabernet Sauvignon (41%), and Petit Verdot (6%), varieties grown on clay and sandy soils rich in gravel. The wine ages for about 18 months in wooden barrels and is finally bottled with the intention of offering something different from the classic Chateau Palmer, a more accessible interpretation, yet not lacking in character, complexity, and longevity. In particular, the Margaux ‘Alter Ego’ is appreciated for its intense fruity and spicy aromas and for its exceptional taste balance.
